Hi all,
Yes, it's alive! Here's some updates on my part:
* I've registered shoebot.net and shoebot.org . Right now they're
pointing to tinkerhouse.net/shoebot . Any idea re: what to do with these?
* I'm now working on integrating Quicktorials (http://quicktorials.org)
into the Gedit IDE. In a nutshell, these are small screencasts that
showcase specific features in graphics applications. The aim is to have
them accessible either via Help menu or as context-help (e.g.
right-clicking on a function name).
* I've gone back to the packaging efforts and setting up things to merge
the new filestructure branch into the main dev repository. Some notes on
this:
- I'm more and more inclined to distribute the libraries separately,
probably as a 'shoebot-libs' package. This is because there's many
licenses involved and lintian is complaining a *lot* about that
issue. Also, the colors lib contains a large amount of XML files
that, taken together with the other libs, greatly increase the size
of the package. Finally, the OpenCV lib contains a few binary (.so)
files, which can't be placed in Debian packages.
- I'm also wondering if the documentation should also be placed in a
separate package.
- I'd like to get general feedback on these 2 issues, since the next
step -- making an Ubuntu PPA for Shoebot -- depends on what we
decide here.
I'll shut up for now and go back to hacking.
